Ernie Davis Single Signed 1961 Syracuse Heisman Trophy Presentation Football JSA

Description

Ernie Davis signed 1961 Syracuse University football. Offered is a vintage Wilson football that has “SYRACUSE UNIVERISTY, 1961, ALL AMERICAN, HEISMAN TROPHY” printed on the white panel of the ball (the other 3 panels are light brown). Davis signed the ball under the printed text with a black ballpoint pen. The ball is in very good condition. Davis was a halfback for the Syracuse Orangemen football team, and he won the Heisman Trophy Award in 1961. He was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the 1962 draft, and then traded to the Cleveland Browns. Tragically, he died of leukemia in 1963 at the age of 23, and never played in a professional game. Included with the football is a full LOA from JSA.
